Beginning in July our Broze Hall will be open from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm each Thursday for seniors and any others who would like to get together for some fellowship, cards, games, conversation and of course a noon pot-luck. If you would like to attend feel free to show up and bring a covered dish or something to contribute to the pot-luck. You may arrive at any time and stay as long as you like. We’ll see what the interest is and perhaps make this a regular occurrence. Any questions please see Jeanette Treybig.

Women’s Christian Living Workshop - July 8

The Workshop originally scheduled for this morning will be held July 8 at 10:00 am. Please sign the sheet at the Information Table today and next Sabbath if you are going to attend so that we may accurately plan the workshop. The discussion questions are available at the Information Table. See Laurie Curry or Jeanine Burt if you have questions.

Houston North Sabbath Bible Study - July 8

There will be a Houston North Sabbath Bible Study on July 8 at Broze Hall. We’ll have an abbreviated service followed by the Bible Study.

Preteen Girl’s Tea Party - July 9

The date for the tea party has been finalized; it will be July 9.  We would like the children to entertain each other, so it would be nice for your child to come prepared to share her talent. She may dance, sing, recite a poem or play an instrument. Please note that not every child has to be an entertainer; she may be the one entertained. We want everyone to be relaxed, so there is no pressure to participate as an entertainer. Each act should be approximately five minutes.

Teen Friday Night Bible Study - July 14

There will be a Teen Bible Study scheduled for Friday night, July 14, at 7:00 pm at Broze Hall.

Facilitators’ Workshop - June 25

You (and your mate) are cordially invited to attend a “Facilitators’ Workshop” on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at the Holiday Inn, Beltway 8 and US 59, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  Facilitation skills can be used during our Revised Format services, our Women’s Reading Group meetings and other venues in which the primary goal is generating discussion in a structured environment.  In this workshop, you will learn the differences between training, presenting, teaching and facilitating - plus, everyone in attendance will get the chance to apply their newly-acquired knowledge by actually facilitating a group discussion! In addition, each participant will enjoy a fabulous Sunday Brunch, with scrambled eggs, turkey bacon and sausage, hashbrowns, pancakes, fruit, juice, coffee, etc. — all for only ten dollars per person. To reserve your seat at this exciting work- shop, please call Ken Giese (281-494-0234) no later than Wednesday, June 21.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Preteen Camp Thank You

We would like to extend a hearty thank you to all those who volunteered their time and energy to make this year’s preteen camp so successful!  Despite a power outage and a rain storm, everything “worked together for good”!  Campers and staff were able to try out the brand new ropes course at camp this year, which included climbing the rock wall and riding the “zip line” - riding a rope and pulley down a cable attached to a 40’ tower — exciting!  Ask any camper if they had a good time at camp this year and you should get a complete report!  Our camp talent show had over 20 acts and was very well received!  We are already planning for next year and realize that, without all of our faithful volunteers, we couldn’t have a preteen camp!  THANKS AGAIN!

Expense Reimbursement Requests Due - June 17

All expense reimbursement requests for this budget year need to be submitted by next Sabbath, June 17.  It’s time to wrap up this year, so please do your part in closing it out in a timely manner.  Your promptness is appreciated!

Women’s Christian Living Workshop - June 24

If you plan on attending the Workshop on June 24, please sign up at the Information Table. The morning will start off with a brunch, followed by a lively discussion about Chapters 16-30 of The Power Of A Praying Woman by Stormie Omartian. Please bring the book, your Bible, food to share, and a desire to fellowship. If you have any questions, please see Jeanine Burt or Laurie Curry.

Men’s Christian Leadership Club - June 25

The men who signed up for the Christian Leadership Club will have their first meeting on Sunday morning, June 25 at 10:00 am at Broze Hall. This will be a more Biblically oriented, graduate-type club, but with opportunities for those with limited club experience. The final format of the club will be determined at that time. If you have not signed up but may still be interested, or if you would like to volunteer for an assignment for the club on the 25th please see Mr. Servidio.

Fit for the Feast - July 1

Would you like to be more Fit For The Feast?  Whether you’ll be kicking it up in Kerrville, trekkin’ around Turkey, or doing the hula in Hawaii, you’ll have more fun and get more out of the fall holy days if you’re feeling fit!  As a group we can join an internet based fitness program sponsored by the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Each year many set personal weight and fitness goals for the feast and this could be way we can “exercise together”. Members would sign themselves up at the exercise level they feel is appropriate and there is a whole list of activities from which to choose. You will do the type of exercise you like best with a minimum of 30 minutes for 5 days a week. Each person would keep track of his or her activity and input it on the web site.  The site lets you know how you are doing as far as reaching your goal.  Starting July 1 and pending
enough interest, the Houston North congregation will have its own fitness club so we can have fun together and encourage one another.  You must be between 6 and 90 years of age and committed to staying with it up to feast time.  For more information, please check out the website:  http://www.fitness.gov/home_pres_chall.htm and plan on attending an informational meeting in Room 3 after services next week.  Questions?  Please see Jeanine Burt.
